Introduction to Yin Yoga

In this busy day and age, it is even more important that we carve out time
to just be still and have some time to reflect.  Come join us as we explore
the origin and history of Yin Yoga.  We will learn about the benefits of Yin
Yoga, learn some Yin Yoga poses, and participate in two Yin Yoga practice
sessions.  In our time together we will experience some self questioning,
pair discussion, group discussion, lecture, demonstration, practice, and
reflect in our journals.  As Thich Nhat Hanh said, “Mindfulness simply means
to pay attention:  this is the practice of presence.  Mindfulness is the
energy of being aware and awake to the present moment.”   One of our goals
for this workshop will be to take the time to be aware of the present moment
as we find stillness in our poses and ask, “Am I uncomfortable?  Is it my
mind or my body?”
