Ayurveda: Part One

What you will learn:
- Brief background and history of Ayurveda and its relationship to yoga.
2. Learning the three doshas or constitutions, Vata, Pitta, Kapha, and the elements and qualities that make up each one. Each person will fill out a questionnaire and we will discuss so that everyone will have a general understanding of their baseline constitutional makeup as well as what dosha is their major imbalance.
3. Learning the basis of self care and its role in ones health. Creating a self care chart based on the imbalance of one’s dosha.
Each person will leave with the homework of practicing their self care, and also keeping a food journal to bring to the next class.
Workshops will include casual lectures and hands on practice as well as discussions. Each participant will leave with a clearer understanding of how to most appropriately care for self and, if you are a yoga instructor, know better how to care for and reach their future students.
